Educated girls more likely to delay childbearing in Benin in 2012

Educational attainment and teenage pregnancy are closely linked. Girls aged 15 to 19 with no formal education are 10 times more likely to have experienced a first pregnancy than those who have completed secondary or higher education. Among girls with only primary education, nearly one in five have become teenage mothers.
